It's Your World ~

Worker train morning at 06.30 am
-- by Simone

Each day- no chance to escape- more than 70% of the population runs to the workers-train heading into the city.

Waiting on the platform, when it's cold and raining, shivering- still half asleep--- till you see the red lights from far and hear the thundering of the incoming locomotive. Like a big wild beast, with huge red rolling wheels ---chhhchche, schshhhee - she stops and offers you the ride to the City. Enter - it's the workers-train morning world.

The train mostly very full---- sometimes you have to take a smoker section----- and this in the morning, - only smoker addicts should sit down here.

Common people like you and me, some early students in groups, workman with good heavy shoes, secretaries and sales folks, craftsmen and once or twice a better dressed guy with a laptop--- all searching for a quick place to sit down.

Nearly nobody talks- the train already started again versus city, outside villages - the last street lights burning, passing by. Fields, a little river------ some cows standing around bored, an early bird flying up. Grey skies---- a pale moon wandering his last path, tired from his night-walk.

Inside the train an overwarmed atmosphere ---- the youngsters chatting, hearing loud music with the ear-micro`s, so you can have some rythm with them. Concentrated melody-listening, faces and minds far away in a secret world. Three guys making forgotten homework - or joking: - youngster- jokes in the newest slangs. Not already having these stamped worker faces. Future in the eyes. -- Not all.

It's like these worker-morning trains would have the possibility to uniform all passengers to a big mass of grey equal faces.

Some folks taking a last nap- a last sweet dream. A life-artist already eating his first croissant, he bought at the first opening of the railway-stations-stall, looking already completely awake in the round- maybe he finds a chat-partner to argue with over something absolutely irrelevent- just to argue- and no problem, he found someone: is loudly talking about the pro and contra of the left tab on his keyboard- or the real interesting fact that a square is not a circle. Don't dare to not agree.....

Some young bankers exchanging insider news on stocks or who has been fired yesterday. These guys always wear suits and a tie, hair nicely shaped. Two older man hidden behind their big newspapers. A hostess with her boarding wheeled-suitcase looking disinterested and distinguished out of the window- the airport is wating- another world. The big, big world~

One or two young ladies, already curled-up and perfectly styled, chatting about yesterday's night-experiences, cinema movie Vips, fashion, who's with who, where do we eat lunch? At the Spaghetti Factory?-- the guy serving there is so cute... or just some fruit-salad from the warehouse, sitting on a bench in the park? People watching.

One or two older women- maybe 50, still quite nice-looking, experience in there faces- they know: the chance to escape is small - better have a job in town, workers train - happy to be able to flow with the 70% -stream ~

Like a big crowd of sheep, they just all are sitting and waiting to get in the first rush hour before the offices and stores open, the City is waiting with all the jobs it can offer.

Outside the landsacpe passing by, on a road the first biker roars thru the frosty morning. The main raod full of cars, a long row of red and wihte lights- stop and go -- the other part of the working population. Car-drivers. Train-goers. Other worlds.

Train stop at each bigger village. A little street crossing the rails ---school-kids waiting and laughing, pushing and talking, till the big Loco has passed.

Getting nearer to the city- the sitting places get rare.

It's real full in the wagon -and no fresh air. Outside, the big freight-railstation with hundreds of wagons standing around, loaded with new cars, containers, Petrol-wagons, locomotives changing them up and down- the city gets nearer, grafitti walls along the railroad, industry skyscrapers. Chemistry companies, multi-nationals - with red-white striped chimneys very high and slim, blowing big clouds of grey smoke into the morning sky. The sun suddenly big and just coming over the horizon, painting all in a first pale-yellow light - we are near the station.

The train sliding in beside rows of other waiting and going trains - everyone gets up - quick, rushing out - not looking at each other- it's time to work-- rushing to the bus or in town, au revoir. Till tomorrow morning at the same time, same station, same train.

Our train will be there- in time, mostly ~

Same scene around the Globe- Tokyo, Timbuktu, Atlanta, Zürich, Honolulu, Moskow, Johannesburg - no chance to escape.

By the way: this red blizzard is the new future worker-train-- red and running real fast.

Here are some links and the steam-loco: a little morning gift for train-fans.
