We recently visited Central Pennsylvania and stayed at The Suites at Hershey - a Bluegreen Vacation Club Resort. We were "lucky" to get a Fall Week at The Suites at Hershey.

We arrived at the Club House on Sunday afternoon, October 30, 2005. Check-In was fast and easy.

We had plans for Hershey Park in the Dark, a very special halloween event.

We were assigned a unit in the new building closest to the highway. Our condo-style unit was in Building Three, Second Floor, Suite 3205.

The Kitchen was bright and clean with white cabinets and appliances a smooth top stove, microwave, dishwasher and a full size refrigerator, full size washer and dryer. All linens and towels were provided.

The living room & dining room combo and the two bedrooms were done in earth tones - tan and beige & browns.

The dining area had a large table with a booth along the wall plus 2 chairs.

We had (three rooms with) windows that open and close and included screens. None of the units have balconies or patios.

We had a view of the Outlet Center & Park and down Hershey Park Drive - Route 39.

The fall weather was in the 70`s during the day and cooler in the evening. Colorful fall foliage.

The beautiful indoor pool is located between the new buildings (2 & 3) and is very inviting. Plenty of tables & chairs to sit at by the pool

The resort also has an Outdoor Pool but it was closed for the season.

The Club House has a Lounge with a TV, Fireplace, and a Desk Top Computer with Free Internet Access.

Ample Garage Parking is located under each building.

For Added Security: You must use your room key to get in the doors and also to get on the elevator

The timeshare is next to the railroad tracks.

Yes, you can hear the trains ...

The Suites at Hershey have three (3) Buildings with a total of 74 Units, all Two (2) bedrooms and Two (2) baths - 1200 sq ft.

We visited nearby cities and towns with names like: Lancaster, Village of Bird-In-Hand, Engine 89Strasburg and Paradise.

On October 31, we drove to the Strasburg Railroad Station. We took a train ride (Engine 89, a coal-burning steam locomotive) and rode aboard the Marian which is an authentically restored passenger First Class Parlor car. During the ride we saw Amish and English Farms.

Across the road from the Strasburg Railroad Station is the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. With over 100 locomotives and cars from the mid-19th and 20th centuries. The Museum is located in a huge building with 100,000 square feet indoor exhibits and an Outdoor Restoration Yard.

We were so impressed that we visited the museum twice and joined The Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.

We would like to go back and visit nearby Harrisburg and Gettysburg National Park

There is so much to do and learn about Hershey and the surrounding areas! The Suites at Hershey is a great home base for your Pennsylvania vacation.
