 The Choice Locations of France's Vacation Villages
An old manor in the country, a huge park with majestic
trees, a private island, a panoramic mountain setting, on the river's edge or near a landmark heritage site --
vacation villages can offer a prestigious touch that can make a difference. Many vacation villages are located
at historical sites or extraordinary locales.
The vacation village, for fifty years, has been essential to the concept that vacations should be available to
everyone. And because they started so long ago, they had the advantage of finding the best locations, which is
important in a choice of a summer destination.
Each region and village vacation boasts unsuspected treasures. Cap
France-LVT (152 villages  with 25,000 beds) proposes remarkable opportunities in Brittany, especially at the property Cap France du Dourdy, in Loctudy (near
Quimper). Not only is the vacation center (135 pavillons-gîtes
et 33 rooms with full board) located close to the fishing ports of Guilvenic and Concarneau, it
also offers proximity to coastal paths and the immense untouched beaches of the Bay of Audierne (with sand sailing,

château, a primary example that a vacation village can exist in a historical site.
 A second example of a superb LVT vacation village is in the Ile
de Berder, a small private island (owned by an industrialist) ½ mile long in the heart of the Gulf of Morbihan. With 88 rooms, it is like a 19th-century country house. Even though it only
has the amenities of a 1- or 2-star hotel, the charm of this historic manor makes it feel special. The site has
long been eyed by the developers of a spa resort, but the managers have held firm. Vacationers enjoy an exclusive
site only accessible from Larmor-Baden
by a 230-foot paved ford at low tide or a small ferryboat at high tide. Set in a string of 40 islands in Bay of
Morbihan, the Ile Berder boasts a park planted with Mediterranean species, a giant rhododendron, an abundance of
flowers and old oak trees. The beach is isolated and is safe for children. The vacation village of Berder also
has a sailing school, an old 37-foot tall ship and an exact replica of 19th-century sinagot, a traditional wooden
fishing boat used in the Vannes or Séné area. Rides made available to guests with a skipper.
Each vacation village has its special assets. Among the 20 villages at Renouvaux, one finds  paradise resorts like
La Baumette à Agay (on the coast in the Var department),
a center perched on the slopes of L’Estérel
on the sublime coast between Saint-Raphaël
and Cannes. In the countryside, the Relais Cap France is set
on River Yonne and guarantees a bucolic ambiance. In the catalog of the 51 destinations in Val, one finds on the
Côte de la Corrèze, a village near Collonges-la-Rouge
(named one of the most beautiful villages of France) where the charming pavilions are tucked away under the bright
and bucolic forest at Lapleau
at the edge of a lake. Toward the mountain there are the VVF-Villages
with stylish little buildings at Ceillac (at 5250 feet,) a typical village nestled in an exceptional setting and
typical of the authentic atmosphere of the Massif du Queyras, a regional natural park.
