Everything about Advertising -- in no particular order

Lisa's Timeshare Holiday Wish List for 2002

Please indulge me a departure from Advertising 101 this week. Here's my "Timeshare Wish List" for 2002:

  • More professionalism throughout the industry
  • Less salespeople that require babysitting
  • Less management willing to do the babysitting
  • More resorts that run a clean line and don't mess with "the wheel"
  • No more "new ways" of selling timeshare
  • Less trainers, managers, seminar leaders and other so-called experts who all used to close 42% on the line
  • More tours who are interested in timeshare rather than in the gifts
  • More tours- period
  • More fun in what should be a fun business to start with
  • No more gifting
  • More owners who actually use their referral program
  • More "tell it like it is" advertising from the resorts
  • Less OPCs and Welcome Center personnel who promise "a hot breakfast and a 30-minute resort tour"
  • For ARDA to finally conceive of and implement a decent timeshare public relations campaign (yes, Howard, just like the "Got Milk" campaign that you appropriated from me more than a year ago)
  • Less backstabbing, small-minded salespeople
  • More of some of the people that I have been blessed to work with over this past year… and you know who you are
  • Peace, love and good health to all of my readers
