The Hyatt Regency is not the only Hyatt property in Beaver Creek. Located nearby is the Hyatt Mountain Lodge at Beaver Creek, one of the company's vacation ownership properties. Affiliated with Interval International, this property is located on the border of Beaver Creek, Creekside Park and the village's Market Square, within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and recreational amenities. A new skiway offers direct ski-out access to Elkhorn lift and ski slopes to all Beaver Creek Mountain.

The Hyatt Mountain Lodge, a joint venture of Beaver Creek-based East West Partners and Hyatt Development Corporation, won several awards at the ARDA convention in 1997, and was already near sellout at the time in spite of the fact that the resort was not even completed yet. It did not, in fact, open until November 1998

The Hyatt Mountain Lodge boasts several innovative floor plans among its 37 units. The three-bedroom residences include a living room, dining area, kitchen, master bedroom and secondary bedroom and two baths. The third "bedroom" is actually a self-contained studio, complete with a fireplace, kitchenette and bath. In addition, the resort offers studio and two-bedroom residences.

Interval ownerships at Hyatt Mountain Lodge were sold in 1/20th shares. Owners enjoy use of their deeded residence during the same winter week every year and up to 10 additional nights at Beaver Creek during mid-April through mid-November.

As an added bonus, all owners at a Hyatt Vacation Ownership resort benefit from membership in the Hyatt Vacation Club. With their membership, owners can exchange their time at a Hyatt Vacation Ownership resort for stays at more than 30 Hyatt Hotels and resorts in the United States and the Caribbean. In addition, Hyatt Vacation Club membership gives owners access to other vacation accommodations through an exchange system operated by Interval International, a vacation exchange company featuring 1,700 properties worldwide.

Prices for shares at the Hyatt Mountain Lodge started at $16,000 for a studio suite, $35,000 for a two bedroom residence and $57,000 for a three bedroom residence.

Hyatt's vacation ownership plan has maintained a low-key and steady approach to its offerings since opening its first timeshare resort in Key West in 1994. The company's focus has been on high-quality, difficult-to-duplicate destinations and the creation of small 'boutique' resorts of high quality and of an intimate nature.

In addition to the company's 2 resorts in Key West, Hyatt now has vacation ownership resorts in Dorado, Puerto Rico; Incline Village, Nevada; and the Hyatt Mountain Lodge in Beaver Creek.

There is also persistent speculation that the company may include timeshare at or near its new Hyatt Regency at Monte Lago in Las Vegas.
