FOX NEWS TO AIR GEORGIA TIMESHARE EXPOSE TONIGHT
Source: ARDA
May 10, 1999
Today, May 10, and tomorrow, May 11, the Atlanta affiliate of Fox News will air a two-part story on three companies
marketing and selling timeshare units in Georgia. The stories will appear on their 10:00 p. m. newscast.
The story, which will include hidden camera footage during sales presentations, ostensibly will place emphasis
on a Georgia state law concerning the timeframe of when a gift associated with a contest or sweepstakes must be
conveyed to the recipient. It is believed that Fox will contend that the three companies were not in compliance
with this law.
ARDA's public relations department has been in contact with all three companies, providing them with information
gathered through ARDA's discussions with Fox News.
As of May 6, one company had decided to go on camera to discuss the story and the allegations put forth by Fox.
The other two have either talked to the reporter or provided a written respose to specific allegations.
