A new timeshare resort on 14 acres on Maui is in the works. Ka'anapali Ownership Resorts, LP, has received a Special Management Area permit from the Maui Planning Commission to go ahead with the planned 280-unit purpose-built luxury timeshare development, to be built on Ka'anapali North Beach.

Called Ka'anapali Ocean Resort, all of the planned luxury units will be 2-bedroom, 2-bath suites, with 225 of the 280 suites having a lock-off feature. The resort will include tennis courts, a full-service health club, swimming pool, restaurant and snack bar, extensive tropical gardens and a beach facility.

Ka'anapali Ownership Resorts, LP, is a partnership between AMFAC Vacation Managers, Inc., and Ka'anapali Partnership, LP. Ka'anapali Parnership is comprised of a group of former executives from Ridge Tahoe who have joined forces with Walton Street Capital (a sister company of AMFAC) to form Quintus Resorts, LLC.
