NASSAU, Bahamas -- The 560 guests vacationing at Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort and Spa whose holiday has been disturbed by Hurricane Floyd, will receive complimentary replacement vacations, thanks to Sandals Resorts International's Blue Chip Ultra Hurricane Guarantee. Those traveling from North America will also receive complimentary airfare.

"Even though Hurricane Floyd may have only interrupted a day or two out of the total time any of our guests were staying at the resort, we are pleased to be able to extend our Blue Chip Ultra Hurricane Guarantee and offer a completely new vacation, plus airfare, for the exact length of their original vacation,'' said John Lynch, Executive Vice President of Sales Worldwide for Unique Vacations, worldwide representatives for Sandals and Beaches Resorts. "We estimate the cost of replacing our Sandals Royal Bahamian guests' vacations to be more than $1.5 million. Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort and Spa managed to escape any major damage, and all guests enjoyed complete meal service, hot and cold running water and electricity for the duration of the storm. The hotel did not close and remains fully operational.

The Sandals/Beaches Blue Chip Ultra Hurricane Guarantee, introduced in 1997, extends the most comprehensive vacation guarantee from any Caribbean Resort chain. Guests are guaranteed that if even one day of their vacation is disturbed by a hurricane, they will receive a replacement vacation for the same duration and accommodation level of the originally booked trip, including airfare for North American guests, to any of the 13 Sandals and Beaches Resorts throughout the Caribbean.
