Ski Magazine Readers Again Vote Sun Valley Best Ski Resort in the Nation

SUN VALLEY, ID (BUSINESS WIRE) - The readers of Ski magazine have voted Sun Valley, Idaho the best ski resort in the U.S., for the second time, according to a survey announced in the magazine's October 1999 issue. Gold medals were awarded to the resort for Grooming, Terrain, Challenge, Lifts, Service, Weather and On-Mountain Food. Sun Valley received additional Gold medal honors in the Lodging, Dining, Apres-Ski, Off-Hill and Family activity categories, bringing the total Gold medals for Sun Valley to 12 out of a possible 16. Not only did the Dining category receive a Gold medal, but was voted number one overall.

This is the second year that Sun Valley was named the best ski resort in the United States by the readers of Ski magazine. The nation's first destination ski resort also took top honors in 1995. With high ranks in both the Snow and Lifts category, one reader recognizes Sun Valley with the ultimate skier's praise "No lines, even at Christmas," while another reader cheers "A wonderful skiing mountain. In addition, Golfer magazine readers voted Sun Valley as among the best 100 golf resorts in the world, in the Spring 1999 issue. Gourmet magazine readers voted Sun Valley the best ski and winter resort in the nation in 1998, while the readers of Conde Nast Traveler voted it the best in the nation, in October 1996.
