TEXARKANA, AR -- The Holiday Inn-Texarkana I-30 has completed a comprehensive $1.7 million renovation that has
upgraded many areas of the hotel. The hotel is operated by Dallas-based Bristol Hotels & Resorts (NYSE:BH)
and owned by FelCor Lodging Limited Partnership, a subsidiary of FelCor Lodging Trust (NYSE:FCH).
The hotel's 210 guestrooms received new drapes, upholstery and bedspreads, as well as new floor and wall coverings.
Guestrooms now offer amenities that are popular with both business and leisure travelers, including in-room coffeemakers,
data ports, irons, ironing boards, clock radios, voice mail and premium movie channels. New furniture, flooring
and wall coverings were placed in the lobby.
The Holiday Inn-Texarkana I-30 features an indoor holidome recreation center with pool, ping pong and a video game
room. An exercise room within the dome houses a treadmill, bicycle and stairclimber, or guests may take advantage
of complimentary passes to a local fitness center.
Located at 5100 North Stateline Road, the hotel is in the heart of Texarkana's business district. It's just five
minutes away from Four States Fairgrounds, the historical Ace of Clubs House, the Perot Theatre, and the Texarkana
Museum.
"Our close proximity to major corporations such as Cooper Tire and Georgia Pacific makes our hotel the perfect
place to hold corporate meetings or training seminars,'' said Linda Cullom, general manager of the Holiday Inn-Texarkana
I-30. "We are especially proud of our executive conference room, which includes a conference table and seating
area, as well as a wet bar, mini-refrigerator, microwave, television and VCR. We also have 1,600 square feet of
meeting space that can accommodate up
to 125 people.''
Linda noted that one of the things that makes the Holiday Inn-Texarkana I-30 different from other hotels is the
commitment of long-time employees.
"Several of our guest services associates have been with us for more than twenty years. Our guests feel like
they are coming home when they stay at our hotel.''
The hotel's renovation is part of Bass Hotels & Resorts' billion and a half dollar modernization program of
all Holiday Inns nationwide. Initiated in 1994, the program provides for upgrades and renovations to exteriors,
public areas and guest rooms. The program is a "rolling'' initiative, which will effectively rejuvenate the
entire Holiday Inn system every seven years.
