Press Release

October 4, 1999
DALLAS, TX -- Two landmark Key West, Fla., properties have been united into a single Wyndham Resort complex, according to James D. Carreker, chairman and chief executive officer of Wyndham International, Inc. (NYSE:WYN).

The former Marriott Casa Marina Resort and the adjacent Marriott Reach have been combined to create the 461-room Wyndham Casa Marina Resort & Beach House. Upon completion of an $8.5 million renovation the hotel will be a premier resort within the growing Wyndham branded portfolio.

The hotel, opened in 1921 as Flagler's Grand Resort, is listed on the National Historic Register. Owned and managed by Wyndham, it is the brand's ninth property in Florida and first in the Key West market.

"In less than two years, we have added eight Florida properties to our Wyndham brand, equaling more than 5,000 additional guest rooms,'' Carreker said. "We were looking for a resort in Key West to continue our strategic growth in Florida's major markets, and the addition of the historic Wyndham Casa Marina definitely fits our upscale standards for a Wyndham Resort.''

"We are committed to enhancing this property to take it from a fine regional resort to a world-class resort,'' said Brian Gamache, president of Wyndham Resorts.

Gamache said the $8.5 million upgrade of Wyndham Casa Marina will include:

Renovation of all public spaces, including arrival experience and all F&B outlets.
-- Renovation of meeting space.

An upgrade of the pool area to become the finest water experience in the Keys and featuring Wyndham's new poolside service innovation, the Pool Concierge.
-- Renovation of all guest rooms and corridors of the former Reach.

Situated on the largest private beach in Key West, the combined properties of the Wyndham Casa Marina Resort & Beach House offer guests a variety of water sports, three tropical outdoor pools, and two whirlpools. Located at 1500 Reynolds St., the hotel is within walking distance of the Duval Street shopping district.

Complimentary use of the health club, including sauna and exercise equipment, is also included with every stay, and guests can visit the massage studio and full-service salon for extra pampering. The facility boasts three lighted tennis courts and an 18-hole golf course is nearby.

Wyndham Casa Marina Resort & Beach House also has more than 15,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space, including three ballrooms, eight breakout rooms, three boardrooms and an ocean view terrace complimented by ample pre-function areas.
