Press Release: Embassy Suites

May 4, 1999
Embassy Suites topped the all-suites segment with the "Highest Guest Satisfaction Among All-Suite Hotel Chains'' award in the J.D. Power and Associates 1999 Domestic Hotel Guest Satisfaction Study(SM). The award was announced last night at the 1999 Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International's (HSMAI) Sales & Marketing Summit in Miami.

According to the Study, Embassy Suites performed well in all aspects of the guest experience, including guest room, reservations/check-in, value for the price paid, check-out, and hotel services such as security and wake up calls. The chain ranked especially high in the food and beverage category.

J.D. Power and Associates 1999 Hotel Guest Satisfaction Study is based on 16,109 individual evaluations from a national probability sample of business and leisure hotel guests. All-Suite chains are characterized by offering hotel guests a sitting room, bedroom, refrigerator and often include a full breakfast in the room rate.

"This honor shows Embassy Suites commitment to exceed customer expectations time after time,'' said Jim Holthouser, senior vice president, brand management, Embassy Suites. "We are dedicated to 100% quality assurance and thank our employees nationwide for devoting themselves to this mission.''

The Embassy Suites' brand management team has implemented several quality assurance programs, including the chain's ongoing substantial investment in consumer research annually. The research includes proprietary tracking studies such as the Guest Satisfaction Rating System (GSRS), U.S. Lodger Panel and several custom research projects, to maximize its understanding of consumer trends in total hotel quality and customer satisfaction. In fact, recent research indicates that 93 percent of Embassy Suites guests were satisfied with their stay and 92 percent would return to Embassy Suites for a future stay, the industry's highest measures in the upscale segment. In addition, Embassy Suites offers a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee to all guests, ensuring them that they will receive a high level of quality and value.

Embassy Suites is the nation's first and largest all-suite hotel chain with over 145 upscale properties. The chain provides guests with the perfect balance of spacious suites and expansive public areas, ideal for both business with pleasure, as well as complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast and value-added amenities.

Embassy Suites is part of the Promus Hotel Corporation (NYSE: PRH), one of the world's premier lodging companies, with system-wide annual revenues of over $5 billion.
