NEW JACK NICKLAUS GOLF COURSE OPENS AT LOS CABOS

The new 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature designed El Dorado Golf Course opened Friday at the Casa del Mar Resort Spa at Cabo Real in Los Cabos, Mexico, joining the internationally renowned Robert Trent Jones II course at the 3,500-acre Cabo Real resort development in the increasingly popular Corridor area between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.

With six ocean front holes on the Sea of Cortez and the remaining 12 holes carved out of two pristine canyons, this spectacular course offers ocean views from every hole and features a unique combination of ocean front and desert canyon golf.

"Our new signature Nicklaus course establishes Cabo Real as the Los Cabos site for superior golf in a destination now ranked second only behind Hawaii in the top ten golf destinations of the world," explained Johnny Vaughan, President of the Cabo Real Development. "You cannot find better golf in Los Cabos or practically anywhere in the world."

The par 72 course features four lakes, hybrid Bermuda grasses, tifway (419) fairways, tees and roughs and champion greens with approximately 90 bunkers. Nicklaus decided to call the course El Dorado since it means "the golden" in Spanish and is the perfect reference to his nickname, "Golden Bear."

This unmatched course marks the sixth championship course to open in Los Cabos since 1993. The other world-famous Los Cabos golf courses include the Robert Trent Jones designed course, also at Cabo Real; the Peter Dye designed Cabo San Lucas Country Club; the Palmilla Golf Course; the San Jose Campo de Golf Course in San Jose and the Cabo del Sol golf course, another Jack Nicklaus Los Cabos course.

The intimate, 56-room, Hacienda style Casa del Mar Resort and Spa is one of four premier resorts which anchor the 3,500 acre Cabo Real development and is the only one owned and managed by the Cabo Real development company.
