BILOXI, Miss.-- Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. (Nasdaq: ISLE) announced Monday that its Isle of Capri Casino in Tunica opened. The property features a full Isle of Capri Casino with approximately 1,000 gaming positions that includes many of the newest slot games available. This property also includes a Calypso's Buffet and the Company's signature restaurant, Farraddays'. The second phase of this property, which is part of the Company's previously announced Millennium Expansion Program, is expected to include a 220-room hotel and two Isle of Capri Wayne Newton Theaters, which has a planned opening in the Summer of 2000.

"This is the opening of our sixth Isle of Capri Casino in seven years. I believe that this steady, consistent growth shows the strength in our brand and the confidence that customers have in our product. It is this strength and confidence that has driven us to enter the Tunica market. I look forward to watching this property grow and adding additional attractions to the Tunica market with the planned opening of the hotel and theaters next year," stated Bernard Goldstein, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer.

John M. Gallaway, President and Chief Operating Officer, said, "We are excited about the opening of our Tunica property. It puts us in one of the top gaming markets in the country, which will allow us to show the Tunica market what 'Isle Style' is all about. We are also very pleased that we were able to open this property in a relatively short time period, with a nominal capital investment, again a testament that 'Isle Style' operations work.''
