Days Inns of America has opened a new Days Business Place Hotel in Roodepoort, South Africa, its third in the region, it was announced today by Joseph R. Kane, Jr., Days Inns president and CEO.

The 80-room, five-story luxury hotel also joins 175 Days Business Place Hotels worldwide which are designed especially for the business traveler and feature Days Work Zone Rooms. The Roodepoort Days Inn hotel is located in Constantia Park Commercial Development, outside of Johannesburg and near the neighboring townships of Krugersdorp and Soweto. The Roodepoort Days Inn hotel is the only major hotel chain operating in the area. The decor of the hotel captures the ambience of Africa in a contemporary setting.

South Africa is becoming more and more attractive to investors now that political and economical stability continues to improve,î said Mahesh Amarath, president of Days Inns Southern Africa (DISA) Pty, Ltd. To keep pace with that growth you will see the lodging industry expand in South Africa,î he said. Rooms in the Roodepoort Days Business Place hotel include an oversized desk, high intensity lighting and easy to reach data port. It also includes a coffee maker with coffee, a microfrige, ironing board and iron, hair dryer, clock radio and snack pack. In addition, Days Business Place hotels have copiers, overnight shipping supplies and no charge for incoming faxes. International expansion is very important to Days Inns, Kane said. The other two Days Inn hotels in South Africa are located in Cape Town and Midrand.
