Over 700 sites from around the world were adjudicated during this year's competition with entries being judged on design, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, ease of use and use of technology.

www.woodsidehotels.com was completely revamped in June '99 to provide a more streamlined appearance and to provide direct-online reservations, meeting space information, room amenities, local events, special packages and a monthly sweepstakes. The 1999 WebAwards competition format allows Web sites to compete head-to-head with other sites within their industry as well as against a standard of excellence. There are three award levels: Best of Industry, Outstanding Web Site and Standard of Excellence in addition to the Best of Show WebAward. The competition was judged by a team of independent Internet professionals representing the various relevant disciplines of Web site development. Judges included members of the media, advertising executives, site designers, corporate marketing executives, content providers and webmasters.
