Central Florida's tourist economy, already knocked off balance by the nation's weak economy, has fallen hard in
the week since terrorists launched devastating attacks on New York and Washington.
Occupancy at some hotels has plummeted to less than 10 percent, and what few tourists are around can walk right
onto the most popular rides at the area's theme parks without waiting in line.
Out-of-towners can even cross International Drive, Orlando's main tourist strip, without dodging a single car.
Orlando International Airport is open again, but planes coming in were hardly full Tuesday.
