Larry Gildersleeve Joins Trendwest Resorts as Vice President Responsible for New Business Development and International Operations

REDMOND, WA -- Trendwest Resorts, Inc. (NASDAQ:TWRI), a leader in the vacation ownership industry, yesterday announced the appointment of Larry Gildersleeve as Vice President and Senior Corporate Officer. In this newly created position, Gildersleeve will focus on strategic issues, including joint ventures, strategic alliances and acquisitions, and Trendwest's international operations.

Gildersleeve brings more than 20 years experience in a variety of marketing, sales and operations positions in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining Trendwest, he has held senior management positions with Hilton GrandVacations Company and MeriStar Hotels and Resorts, as well as both major international exchange companies, Interval International and RCI. Gildersleeve also serves on the Board of Directors and is a member of the Executive Committee of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), the timeshare industry's trade association. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and former president of the Washington, D.C.-based International Foundation for Timesharing.

Gildersleeve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Government and Journalism from Western Kentucky University, where he currently serves as a member of its Board of Advisors, and a Masters of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
