An Open Letter From The Manhattan Club

September 12, 2001

To our Friends in the Industry,

We would like to let our friends and associates in the industry know that despite the catastrophic events at The World Trade Center on Tuesday, we are doing O.K. here at The Manhattan Club. The World Trade Center is located some 40 blocks to the south of us. Although there was heavy smoke from the damage, the winds blew the smoke towards the river and the ocean. The only real damage we feel here is all emotion. Almost every employee here has a relative or knows of someone that worked in or around the World Trade Center. Already we've heard stories of joy for those that survived. However, the loss of life has affected some of our staff directly.

Obviously we've suspended our short term marketing efforts and have closed our sales office. We will take our lead from Mayor Gulliani as to when New York should rise above this crisis and resume our daily activities.

Transportation in and out of the city is extremely limited today. The city has asked that all non-essential employees to stay home. Therefore, many of our employees could not come to work today and we'll be somewhat short staffed. We've contacted all of our in-house owners and exchange guest this morning to check on their needs. They've been very understanding and in fact we've had some offer us help. Must be that 'pride of ownership' feeling. A letter is being drafted now for mailing to all of our owners explaining our condition. We will also be posting a message to our owners on our owners web page before the day is over that we are open and operating. We've contacted R.C.I. to assure them that we are ready to accept their expected arrivals.

We are very grateful for the outpouring of concern we have received from many of you. We are well and looking to a safe, secure and bright future as a company and as Americans.

Very truly yours,

Dennis F. Rogers, VP
