NORTHBROOK, IL -- A respected Sales management professional with over two decades of vacation ownership experience
was recently selected as the tip sales executive for Shell Vacations' Legacy Golf Resort at South Mountain ranch
in Phoenix, Arizona.
Melanie Wright-Danz has assumed responsibilities as Director of Sales for the resort's 37-person sales line, where she will also be responsible for recruiting, training and motivating personnel in the sales of the company's point-based Shell Vacations Club. According to John Murphy, Shell's Regional Director Arizona Region, "Melanie's leadership, recruiting and training skills have already had a strong impact on our increased sales in Arizona."
Wright-Danz will direct sales of the Legacy's 168 two-bedroom lockoff units, housed in 12 separate buildings and designed in a traditional Spanish mission-styled architecture. the resort is located directly on the Gary Panks-designed championship golf course, site of the LPGA Open last year. Amenities include meeting facilities, casual dining restaurant, exercise and spa rooms, pool and many recreational opportunities.
During her 20 years in the vacation ownership industry, wright-Danz has risen from sales representative to sales manager, then senior sales manager and now director of sales. She began her career at Breezy Point Resort in Minnesota and also served international properties in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Most recently she was with success developments as it transited from ownership by Vistana and then Starwood. she also was with Shell Vacations several years ago, selling at the Orange Tree Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Shell Vacations also owns Starr Pass Golf Suites in Tucson and Orange tree Golf resort in Scottsdale. With nine Off-Site Preview Centers and 14 resorts located in Hawaii, California, Arizona and Canada, shell Vacations LLC is one of the nation's largest independent vacation ownership operators serving close to 60,000 owner/members. The company is expected to reach annual net vacation ownership sales in excess of $100 million in 2001.
