KISSIMMEE, FL -- Silver Lake Resort is pleased to announce the appointment of Jean Kilani to Project Director.
Mr. Kilani has been with Silver Lake Resort for a number of years and was promoted from Director of Sales.
The resort has also taken a major step forward into a fair and equitable working environment. A committee was recently
formed consisting of line and in-house sales representatives as well as managers. The committee meets once a week
to discuss all aspects of Silver Lake… sales, marketing planned additions to the resort, customer satisfaction
and pay scales.
The committee was formed because management, both old and new, decided that since the salespeople have always been
on the leading edge of the business, they should have a direct vote in not only how the resort is currently being
operated, but also the resort's future expansion plans.
"Too often in the past, management has taken the stance that salespeople don't know or don't care about the
overall timeshare business, most importantly, the marketing." said Mr. Kilani. "By forming this committee,
the salespeople have a direct say in the type of customers that they see on a daily basis and management is forced
to get out of their "ivory towers" and see things for what they really are."
Preliminary feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with the salespeople taking greater pride in what they contribute
to the resort. In addition, important lines of communication have been established between salespeople and upper
management resulting in a sense of good will and camaraderie that is all too often lacking in the timeshare industry.
"The atmosphere at work has improved a lot", says Connie Jett, Director of Sales. "Even with the beginning of the so called `low season' in Orlando, people are happy to be at work because they know that they are contributing and that they are being heard."
Della Richter, an In-House Sales Associate added, "Right now, this is the resort to be working at!"
Future plans for the resort include the development of a unique campaign designed to attract customers predisposed
to vacationing.
Silver Lake Resort currently has 202 1, 2, and 3 bedroom villas and construction of Phase III will begin this quarter.
Silver Lake has been an RCI Gold Crown Resort since its inception in 1991. The property is located adjacent to
the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando Florida.
