DEL MAR -- Local entrepreneur Jim Watkins has chosen to "focus on the dream."
Watkins moved to Del Mar with his wife and four children and $1,000 in his pocket in 1966. He is now 70, and has
spent the last 40 years developing numerous homes, apartments, commercial, vacation, and rental properties.
Watkins' first property, a development of low-income homes, was located in the Central Valley town of Hanford,
but perhaps his most famous structure is right here in Del Mar -- the L'Auberge Del Mar Resort and Spa.
