Epic Resorts LLC and its subsidiary, Epic Travel LLC, have been ordered to make overdue refunds to many consumers
who accepted vacation "prizes" from the two companies and then changed their minds.
The settlement comes more than a year after the Federal Trade Commission raided Epic Resorts' Central Florida offices
as part of Operation Travel Unravel, an investigation of companies said to be engaging in travel fraud and other
violations of federal law.
The order requires Epic Resorts and Epic Travel to refund the money of customers who requested, but did not receive,
their refunds within a 30-day cancellation period, said Collot Guerard in the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection.
She didn't know how many people might be affected.
