ELLENSBURG — Trendwest Resorts Inc., developer of the MountainStar resort in Upper Kittitas County, is donating water to the Kittitas Reclamation District in response to a projected drought this summer.

District Manager Jack Carpenter said Trendwest has offered to temporarily transfer water at no cost to the KRD from water rights held on the Upper Yakima River system.

“We greatly appreciate the water offered in the transfer,” Carpenter said. “It will really help, but we are still looking for more sources of additional supplies. From all we are seeing the drought is still looking like a severe one.”
