PTI Joins WATG

Press Release
April 24, 2001
ORLANDO, FL -- Pamela Temples McMullen, ASID, president and founder of Pamela Temples Interiors (PTI) has announced that her 25-person design firm and her procurement company, Interiors Purchasing Group (IPG), will be joining forces with Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo (WATG).

"This is a perfect marriage," said Temples, citing the additional advantages that she can now offer her clients. "WATG is the world’s number one design firm serving the hospitality and leisure industry. Their 55 years of specialized experience offering architectural and planning services on six continents will allow PTI to broaden the range and scope of expertise that we can provide to our clients."

Ranked number five among the world’s top design firms in the hospitality industry, according to Hotel & Motel Management magazine (November 2000), PTI is best known for its award-winning design of hotels, resorts and vacation ownership properties. PTI’s repeat client list includes Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, Starwood/Vistana, Bluegreen Corporation, and Shell Vacations LLC.

"Having worked with PTI on several successful projects, we have a lot of respect for Pam. We are delighted that she and her talented staff will be joining us," said Ronald J. Holecek, AIA, WATG’s president and chief executive officer. "The acquisition offers us — and, therefore, our clients — a lot of strategic benefits. PTI is the number one vacation ownership design firm in the world. Timeshare is a rapidly growing market internationally, and Pam’s recognized expertise will help our clients make smart decisions, avoid costly mistakes, and create successful destinations."

PTI’s affiliate purchasing company, Interiors Purchasing Group (IPG), is a leader in the procurement of furnishings, fixtures and accessories for the hospitality industry. Furthermore, IPG is ranked among the top 20 purchasing companies nationwide (Hotel Business, June 2000).

"Additionally," adds Holecek, "WATG can now handle clients’ furniture, furnishings and accessories procurement. And PTI’s presence in Orlando nicely complements the strategic locations of our other offices in the U.S., London and Singapore."

The agreement between WATG and PTI, while strengthening both firms, will still allow each entity to continue its relationships with existing clients. "While many of our clients will see the benefit of our being able to offer a wider range of integrated services," notes Temples, "others may be comforted by the knowledge that nothing will change with regard to the personal attention that we devote to each and every business relationship."
