DAYTONA BEACH -- It dominates the view of the core area of the beachfront, a towering presence burning itself into
the area's consciousness.
Now area residents will get a look at what community leaders hope will be the catalyst to move the hospitality
industry forward in the Daytona Beach area. The Ocean Walk Resort will open for a preview Wednesday for area chamber
members with events there and a free concert at the Bandshell behind it. The first guests will arrive in May.
As chambers of commerce members from the area sip their drinks on the expansive pool deck of the 299-unit hotel/time-shared
resort, they will be marking a new day for the area.
