BARRIE, ONT, Canada -- Carriage Hills Resort announced recently that it has received the prestigious Resort Condominiums
International (RCI) "Gold Crown Resort" award, RCI's top quality honor.
An RCI affiliate, Carriage Hills joins an elite group of resorts around the world formally recognized by RCI for
attaining the highest levels of excellence, quality and service standards. Opening for owner usage in 1997, this
was the fifth consecutive year Carriage Hills has received this distinctive honor. The resort was developed by
Shell Vacations, LLC.
On hand for the presentation ceremony were Cam Jackson, Canada's Minister of Tourism; Richard Andrews, Senior Managing
Partner at Horse-shoe Resort; Steve Marks, the head of RCI Canada, plus other resort officials.
The Gold Crown award is determined by RCI members, who submit evaluations of their vacation experiences after they
travel. Members rate the quality of the resort facilities and services in the categories of unit quality, hospitality,
housekeeping, maintenance and check-in/check out.
Situated on a ridge overlooking both the golf course and the ski hills of the 1,600-acre Horseshoe Valley Resort
just north of Barrie, Ontario, Carriage Hills is Ontario's premier vacation ownership resort. It is jointly owned
by Horseshoe Resort Corporation and Shell Vacations, LLC, one of North America's largest independent vacation ownership
developers.
Developed by Shell Vacations, Carriage Hills Resort encompasses 172 two- bedroom vacation residences with comfortably
sleep up to eight guests. Designed with a rustic country feel, each home features gas fireplace, Jacuzzi tub, washer/dryer,
fully equipped kitchens and top-of-the-line appliances. Three televisions, a VCR and stereo add a touch of luxury
to the finely appointed accommodations.
Carriage Hills owners receive a deed and title for each week purchased. This provides them with guarantee vacations
each year at Carriage Hills or to any of the more than 3,750 worldwide resorts through its exchange affiliation
with RCI. Also located at Horseshoe Valley Resort is the 102-room Inn, plus golf and ski facilities which attract
over 300,000 visitors each year.
