Trendwest Resorts Sponsors The 8th Annual Don James Classic To Support The Boys & Girls Club

REDMOND, WA -- Trendwest Resorts, Inc. (Nasdaq: TWRI) sponsored the 8th Annual Don James Golf Classic on Monday, October 1, 2001 at the Golf Club at Newcastle. The event, which raised nearly $40,000 net, is an annual fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs of King County, Kirkland/Redmond Branches.

"Trendwest strongly believes in the Boys & Girls Club mission to provide a positive environment for youth to build self-esteem and reach their highest potential," stated Bill Peare, President and CEO of Trendwest. "We are proud to be affiliated with such a well-respected organization and first-rate event as the Don James Golf Classic."

The all-day tournament included dinner along with a live and silent auction emceed by KJR Radio personalities Dave 'The Groz' Grosby and Jeff 'The Fisherman' Aaron. The auction showcased sports memorabilia, golf packages and a golf vacation in Tucson, AZ, from Trendwest. Also featured during the live auction was a special "Sponsor-a-Kid" item that raised $5,300 to provide scholarships for Boys & Girls Club programs for disadvantaged children.

The more than 120 tournament participants included Don James, former University of Washington football coach, television and radio personalities and local corporate executives. All proceeds from the Don James Golf Classic support the more than 6,500 youth members of the Boys and Girls Clubs of King County, Kirkland/Redmond Branches.
