CARLSBAD, CA -- John E. Small has announced the formation of International Resort Management, a company devoted
to a proactive resort management.
The new company, based in Carlsbad, California specializes in Resort Operations, Club and Homeowner Administration
Management, Member Services, Reservations, Hotel Marketing/Rental Programs as well as Maintenance Fee Billing and
Collections. In addition, through its strategic partner, San Diego-based Resort Communications, Inc., International
provides full information technology solutions.
John E. Small is president of International Resort Management. He has extensive background in the travel industry.
For more than 27 years, he held key management positions at some of the world's leading properties including the
Shangri La Hotel - Singapore, Block Hotels - Africa, Sun City Resorts - South Africa, Sugarbush Resort - Vermont,
and Sitmar Cruises, Royal Viking Line and Princess Cruise Lines. While under his management, these entities received
worldwide recognition as leaders in the industry.
Most recently, Small was a Senior Vice President of RCI where he served as Chief Operating Officer of RCIM. In
his three and a half years with RCIM, the division grew from 19 resorts to more than 40, and revenues increased
substantially. During his tenure, RCIM won 40 American Resort Development Association (ARDA) awards, and most
recently was named as the Employer of the Year in the Timeshare Industry. According to Kenneth R. May, Chief Executive
Officer and President of RCI, "John's contributions to RCI over the years have been countless, building RCI
Management into one of the industry's best property management organizations, and creating many programs and products
that are important contributors to RCI's success to this day."
