When cash is low, the Magic head to Aspen

You would think a company losing $10 million a year and asking for a public bailout wouldn’t be buying into an Aspen ski resort timeshare for $480,000.

But the Orlando Magic recently acquired use of a suite at the Ritz-Carlton for two months. The resort features ski-in, ski-out access, dedicated club concierge, ski valet with personal lockers, two health clubs, slope-side pool, whirlpool spa, members’ lounge and mountain-view gourmet restaurant.

Magic team spokesman Joel Glast said the team took the timeshare instead of cash in a deal with Marriott Vacation Club, a team sponsor.
