Thurnham Vacation Club Selects Interval International As Exchange Provider

Press Release
October 10, 2001
MIAMI, FL -- Thurnham Vacation Club, one of the UK's leading vacation ownership companies, has selected Interval International as its exchange provider.

"We are confident that the new exchange partnership will better serve our expansion plans, so that we can maintain current practices and benefits, while continuing to develop the Club exclusively for our members," said Thurnham's managing director Fred Fogg. "My personal aims are to protect the members' interests and to develop the long-term membership benefits of Thurnham Vacation Club. The additional membership benefits that Interval International offers will quite simply enhance club membership."

Fogg is also convinced that the new relationship with Interval will offer members a fabulous range of vacation opportunities and afford his own Group significant scope to expand.

David Donovan, Interval's senior group sales director, said he is delighted that Thurnham Vacation Club has chosen Interval as its new exchange partner and is looking forward to serving Thurnham's 6,000 owners.

"Interval International provides a high-quality exchange service offering a unique range of options that will benefit Thurnham and its members," he said.

Thurnham Vacation Club is part of Thurnham Leisure Group, a resort development company established in 1996 when it acquired Thurnham Hall, the Group's flagship resort. The Hall is a traditional country house, which stands in a stunning estate of 28 acres, part of the coastal hamlet of Thurnham in Lancashire. In 1996, Thurnham Hall had only nine completed timeshare units. Development since then has included 41 more units and a leisure centre, while planning is underway for a further 10 units with completion expected in Summer 2002. Earlier this year, the group acquired units at the lively resort of Cromer Country Club on the Norfolk coast, and Club Britannia in Eastbourne, Sussex, both of which now add to the portfolio of quality vacation properties owned and managed by the Group.

Today, between the Group's office, its countrywide resorts, an in-house travel agency and a successful tele-marketing business, Thurnham employs more than six hundred staff, while the total number of timeshare units in the club portfolio amounts to 175.

"Thurnham Vacation Club is one of the United Kingdom's most respected timeshare companies and we are pleased they have chosen to work with us as they expand their business," said Craig M. Nash, Interval's chairman and chief executive officer. "I have no doubt our members will also appreciate the addition of Thurnham's properties to Interval's growing collection of high quality resorts around the world."

Interval International is celebrating its silver anniversary as the quality vacation exchange company providing travel and leisure services for more than 1.2 million member families at nearly 1,900 resorts in 75 countries. With its international headquarters located in Miami, Florida, Interval serves its developer clients and consumer members through 29 offices in 20 countries and currently employs more than 1,700 people worldwide.
