The Town of Hilton Head Island's Board of Zoning Appeals voted \this week to allow a developer to build 15 time
shares on a 1.9-acre DeAllyon Avenue parcel, opening the door for a 41-unit time-share complex on the island's
south end.
The board voted 4-0 Monday to grant a zoning exception to Dennis Van Der Meer, the landowner. Board members Irvin
Campbell, Mary Strayer and George Rowan were absent.
Van Der Meer plans to sell the property at 36 DeAllyon Avenue to JPT Development Co. so it can move ahead with
its 41-unit development, according to William Foiles, who represented Van Der Meer at Monday's board hearing.
