Press Release: Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts
November 13, 2001
TORONTO -- For the 21st consecutive year, more Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts have won the coveted AAA Five Diamond
Award than any other hotel company in the world.
This year, 20 Four Seasons properties received the honor -- including two first time honorees. New additions to
the list are Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale and Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, both of which opened in 1999.
Both resorts give new meaning to rest and relaxation. At Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale, a 12,000 square foot spa
offers a range of skin and body treatments, scrubs, clay wraps, facials and massages, inspired by the spirit and
ingredients of the desert. Guests preferring to try their luck on the links can take advantage of special privileges
at the renowned Troon North Golf Courses.
Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita also specializes in pampering. The newest Four Seasons AAA Five Diamond winner in
Mexico features a full-service spa, spectacular pool, tennis courts, a pristine, white beach and a Jack Nicklaus
designed 18-hole golf course, giving guests at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita the opportunity to do as much or
as little as they please.
``These two resorts are not only characterized by their beauty, they are distinguished by the personalized, intuitive
service that is uniquely found at all Four Seasons properties,'' said Wolf Hengst, president, worldwide hotel operations.
``The AAA Five Diamond Award is an acknowledgement of the emphasis we put on providing the highest quality guest
experience. We are delighted that AAA has once again recognized so many Four Seasons properties with such a distinguished
honor.''
The AAA Five Diamond Awards are based on inspections of North American hotels made at random by AAA officials.
Properties are rated according to various criteria, in a number of categories including housekeeping and maintenance,
