THE number of rogue timeshare operators in Europe has been greatly reduced by EU legislation.
About 400,000 households in Britain own a timeshare and in the past two years the number of Britons taking timeshare holidays has grown by nearly 14 per cent.

The cornerstone of the legislation is a cooling-off period, which allows people who have bought a time-share a minimum of ten days in which to change their mind and get their money back. This overcomes the pressure-selling techniques used by John Palmer.
