Shari Levitin Group Files Suit For Copyright Infringement

Press Release
May 18, 2001
The Shari Levitin Group ("SLG") yesterday filed a civil action in the United States District Court against Shelley Prpich of British Columbia, Canada, alleging multiple violations of the Federal Copyright Act of 1976. SLG's lawsuit alleges that after Prpich obtained copies of SLG's audiocassette seminar series in 1998, Prpich began copying the audiocassettes and distributing them to timeshare sales executives without SLG's permission. SLG's lawsuit alleges that Prpich willfully violated SLG's copyright protection and seeks $150,000 in statutory damages for the copyright violations.

SLG President and CEO Shari Levitin states, "Unfortunately, I have received reports that my company's intellectual property is being illegally copied and distributed in the United States and abroad. When faced with copyright piracy, SLG will take whatever action is necessary to protect its rights."

All questions or information relating to the Prpich lawsuit should be directed to SLG's legal counsel, the law firm of Wakefield & Wrona, P.C. at (435) 649-6251.
