PARSIPPANY, NJ -- Alain Grangé has been named Chairman and President of RCI Latin America/Caribbean, effective
April 17, it was announced today by Kenneth M. May, CEO and president of Resort Condominiums International, LLC
(RCI).
Grangé will be responsible for expanding RCI's business throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, from
South America to Bermuda, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico.
"The Latin America and Caribbean region has significant potential for future growth in timeshare, and hence
for RCI," said May. "Alain Grangé's experience throughout these and other regions around the world
in timeshare development, sales and marketing and operations, uniquely qualifies him to lead this important initiative."
Grangé joins RCI from Starwood Vacation Ownership, Inc. (SVOI) and SVO International, Inc., of Orlando,
Fla., where he served for nine years as President and Chief Executive Officer of SVOI International. In this position,
he led the planning and creation of Vistana International Inc. (predecessor of SVOI), which grew profitably to
represent an important part of SVOI overall business.
Prior to Vistana, Grangé served as Managing Director for Geller & Co. of Chicago, Ill., an international
real estate investment firm specializing in financing, research, development, asset management and operations of
large hotels, resorts and mixed-use projects worldwide. He has held a number of senior and executive management
positions within the hospitality, vacation ownership, real estate, golf club community, travel and leisure industries
both in the U.S. and internationally with companies such as Resorts Clubs International, Holiday Inns, Grand Metropolitan,
Inter-Continental Hotels, Steigenberger Hotels, Hotel Plaza Athénée, Splendido and Imperial.
Grangé, who has worldwide business experience, speaks six languages, holds a degree in Hotel Management
and Administration from the French Hotel and Restaurant Technical College (FNIH) in Paris in his native France,
and a graduate degree from the Business Administration University in Paris (INAM).
