David Callaghan Promoted To Assistant Vice President Of Business Development

MIAMI, FL -- David Callaghan has been promoted to assistant vice president of Business Development for Interval International.

"David has made significant contributions in every position he has held at Interval over the past eight years, "said David Gilbert, senior vice president, Resort Sales and Service. "I am confident that with the industry experience he has acquired and his corporate knowledge and professionalism, he will be a tremendous asset to Interval in his new role."

In his new position, he plays a key role in formulating and executing all aspects of Interval's business development initiatives. He is also responsible for the coordination of Interval's participation in all industry-related conferences throughout North America.

Callaghan leads Interval's onsite efforts at each conference and establishes relationships with attendees interested in the vacation ownership industry. He manages Interval's involvement in the annual NYU and UCLA Hospitality Investment Conferences and oversees the organization of the annual Timeshare Investment Conferences, important educational forums designed to attract new investors and developers to the industry. Callaghan also administers the company's alliances with industry associations such as the Caribbean Hotel Association, Urban Land Institute, American Hotel and Lodging Association, Caribbean Tourism Organization, and Caribbean Latin American Action.

Callaghan joined Interval International in 1993 as a vacation counselor. He was promoted shortly thereafter to account manager for Marriott Vacation Club International and he was held responsible for the day-to-day management of the Marriott account. In 1995, he assumed the position of account executive for the Central Florida Region, and assisted in establishing Interval's first office in Orlando. Later that year, Callaghan was promoted to Caribbean region manager. In his last position, he was the director of Business Development.

Before Callaghan joined Interval International, he held a variety of management positions in the European hotel and airline industries.
