Time 4 Sharing.com -- Busy Weekend for the Middle East and Gulf

Lunch and a Movie!

Press Release
March 7, 2001
The philanthropic movement, Time4sharing.com, was busy planning events in two countries this past weekend. The volunteers in Lebanon organized a day out with a number of orphan children from the orphanage Dar el Aitam el Islamia on Saturday March 3rd, 2001. The day began with the children ages 6-10 arriving at Burger King Raouche in the "Bus of Good Will" to meet the eager Time4sharing volunteers who consisted mostly of staff from Platinum Resorts International. Burger King Raouche was kind enough to sponsor the luncheon feeding 30 hungry orphan children to a great whopper meal. The children also received balloons and facemasks to further their enjoyment.

"We were really lucky," says coordinator Alyah Rafeh "the weather was absolutely beautiful and the kids had a blast playing for hours in the small playground at Burger King." Laughing and running expending their everlasting energy after the meal, the children were ready after a few hours to join an audience at Dunes Cinema in Verdun for a Disney Movie! The feature show being "The Kid" starring Bruce Willis, a comedy of a grown up who meets himself as a child and learns the joys of being a child through himself as a child. Before the movie began Mrs. Viviane Boulos-Tolan, founder of the charitable movement, welcomed the audience and said a few words about Time4sharing.com. "It was a joy to see the excitement and smiles on the faces of these less privileged children. It is our goal to enrich their lives for at least just one day," remarked Boulos-Tolan before the small slide show presentation. After the presentations the lights dimmed, the children grew quiet and the movie began.

Once the movie ended, the day of fun filled activity for the children of Dar el Islamia was becoming a memory for the children as they left the theater with smiles on their faces and empty popcorn boxes in hand. But before they loaded their bus back to the orphanage, they were each given a poster souvenir of the movie provided by Vincenti and Sons distributors of Buena Vista Disney Films in Lebanon.

This is the third event Time4sharing.com hosts in Lebanon. They are planning to host events every 2-3 months each time working with a different orphanage. They are a non-religiously affiliated group who are interested in enriching the lives of those less fortunate.
