Of the three largest winter ski resort companies, Vail Resorts, Inc. and Intrawest Corporation had better quarterly
financial news than did rival American Skiing Co., according to their quarterly statements.
While American Skiing (NYSE: SKI) announced a downward revision in financial expectations, a reorganization, staff
layoffs and plans to put a for sale sign on one of its major resorts, Vail Resorts (NYSE: MTN) and Intrawest (NYSE:
IDR) both reported better news.
Vail Resorts Inc. on Wednesday reported a slight rise in fiscal third-quarter earnings on higher revenues from
its ski resorts and said it remains comfortable with full-year forecasts.
