REDMOND, WA -- Trendwest Resorts, Inc., of Redmond, WA announced a three-race partnership with Jim Harvey Motorsports
as the new sponsor of the U-2 Trendwest Unlimited Hydroplane. The U-2 Trendwest unlimited hydroplane will be appearing
in the unlimited hydroplane race circuit in the Tri-Cities, WA; Seattle, WA; and San Diego, CA.
The U-2 Trendwest hydroplane was recently painted black with yellow and red accents bearing the new Trendwest logo.
The boat is driven by Scott Pierce, a 17-year veteran of hydroplane racing. Tom Anderson, U-2 motorman, is recognized
as one of the top turbine engine builders in motorsports.

Jim Harvey: U-2 Hydroplane Owner
As an Unlimited Hydroplane crewman, crew chief and owner, Jim Harvey's boat racing career has spanned three decades.
Jim's accumulated expertise covers every phase of Hydroplane racing from hull design and construction to race setup.
He is always on the vanguard of trying something new. Throughout the 2000 season, his experimental two-wing hull
clearly showed fans a new level of speed and performance that stood poised to put the team in the winner's circle
throughout the season. He ranks ninth among all time leading crew chiefs with 12 victories and was a two time National
Champion. Harvey has been honored as ``Crew Man of the Year'', ``Crew Chief of the Year'', and received the Unlimited
Racing Commission's prestigious ``Man of the Year'' award. Jim Harvey lives in Redmond, WA.
Scott Pierce: U-2 Driver
Scott Pierce is a 17-year veteran on the unlimited hydroplane circuit. He has seven victories and won the World
Championship in 1991 for the Budweiser team. Following an accident in Detroit 1997, Pierce turned his racing attention
to 410-sprint car racing, the most powerful sprint car class. He was rookie of the year in 1998 in the 410 division
and will continue in sprint cars as an owner. Scott Pierce is 45 years old and resides in Woodinville, WA.
Tom Anderson: U-2 Motorman
Tom Anderson's record for competition, consistency and safety is among the best in boat racing. His experience
as an Unlimited crewman dates back to 1984. Tom has been involved in the design and fabrication of some of the
sport's top racing hulls and equipment. His turbine engines have set two world records, and he is an expert on
the high strength, low weight composite structures that make up the modern hydroplane. He makes his home in Auburn,
WA.
