SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- To complement its existing Preview Center, located at The Cannery at Fisherman's Wharf, Shell
Vacations Club has opened a new Preview Center at the Donatello Hotel, located in the heart of downtown San Francisco.
According to veteran sales executive Alan Banks, Shell's Regional Director for California, "Having a presence
at the Donatello has enabled us to better communicate with existing owners, hotel guests, exchangers and mini-vacation
guests. The new Preview Center is also expected to generate tours from other hospitality properties within the
city."
Staffed by about a half dozen professionals and headed by Sales Manager Howard Rosfeld, the Donatello Preview Center
is located on the 14th floor of the 15-story hotel and is open on a daily basis. Shell acquired the prestigious
Donatello Hotel in March 1999 and began selling its Shell Vacations Club at the property last fall.
Adds Rosfeld, "The hotel enjoys some of the largest units in San Francisco and features 10'-high ceilings
and oversized windows which combine to create an expansive, airy feeling. The Donatello also includes the Zingari,
a 98-seat Italian restaurant, a 120-vehicle parking garage, a fitness center and The Terraces meeting room."
The Donatello is Shell's flagship property in Northern California. San Francisco sister resorts include The Suites
at Fishermen's Wharf, The Inn at the Opera and the Peacock Suites Resort in Anaheim. Shell's other resorts are
located in Hawaii, Arizona and Canada. Shell Vacations is one of the nation's largest independently owned vacation
ownership developers with 14 resorts and seven Off-Site Preview Centers and is expected to reach net sales in excess
of $100 million this year.
