KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Silver Lake Resort Ltd. General Partners A.J. Stanton Jr. and Leonard J. Haase announced yesterday
the appointment of Michael J. Butler as executive vice president of sales and marketing and Deborah Moore as chief
operating officer. Both appointments are effective immediately.
Butler has been in the business for more than 20 years as president and CEO of Midlan International - a global
sales, marketing and management consulting company that specializes in the resort and recreational real estate
industries. Moore brings 18 years of industry experience to Silver Lake, including eight years with Midlan and
various assignments throughout the United States.
Stanton says Butler's expertise in creating high-volume, low-cost marketing programs, such as the American Airlines
Frequent Flyer Advantage program his firm designed for Sunterra Resorts, will enhance Silver Lake's bottom-line
profitability. Through the years, Midlan has been retained by leading financial institutions to turn around resort
real estate properties by maximizing sales and productivity. In addition to timesharing, Midlan clients have included
golf course and mixed-use developments throughout the United States, Australia, Europe and the Caribbean.
Moore, who has held high-level posts in administration, finance and marketing during her industry career, most
recently served as regional marketing director for Shell Vacations Club's Hawaii region. Her prior experience in
Orlando includes serving as vice president of administration and finance for Blue Tree Resort and as an operations
consultant for the startup of Grand Lake Resort. Outside of the Florida and Hawaii markets, Moore was a project
director for three New England resorts, representing Sentry Bank and the Resolution Trust Corp.
Silver Lake Resort Ltd. is celebrating its 10-year sales anniversary this month. The 202-villa RCI Points development
has more than 11,000 owners. Thirty additional villas are scheduled for completion in summer 2002. At build-out,
the 35-acre resort, which is adjacent to Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom theme park, will feature up to 630
one-, two- and three-bedroom villas. Since 1993, Silver Lake Resort has been awarded the prestigious, RCI Gold
Crown Resort designation.
