Skico suitors also have eyes for Winter Park

All three of the Aspen Skiing Co.’s would-be partners in the new Base Village in Snowmass have also expressed interest in developing and operating the Winter Park Ski Area.

The city of Denver is seeking partners to help sustain the Front Range ski area, which did 902,827 skier visits last year but is still $4 million behind in payments to its municipal landlord.

Six groups have expressed interest in Winter Park, including Hines Resorts, Intrawest and East-West Partners, each of which are also talking with the Skico about developing 12 acres at the base of the Snowmass Ski Area.
