Olympic Valley - Nestled behind Squaw Valley USA's cable car building, it is growing. On the other side of this winter, the final phase of the Squaw Valley Lodge will emerge with 40 new condominium-style units.

According to the lodge's general manager, Dan Tester, the new facility will consist of mostly two-bedroom units that will be sold to individuals who will have the option to rent them out.

This expansion, the fifth phase of the Squaw Valley Lodge, began last spring. The first phase of the lodge was completed in 1987.

Thirty of the fifth phase's units are already spoken for by individual buyers, according to Norm Anderson, a sales agent with O'Neil Brokers. The remaining condos will be sold as quarter-shares, with four separate buyers sharing a unit.
