'Goldfinger' companies to be investigated

A judge has ordered that companies owned by one of Britain's wealthiest men can be investigated to seize proceeds from his timeshare swindle.

John "Goldfinger" Palmer was jailed for eight years last May after he was convicted of cheating thousands of Britons who wanted a holiday home in the sun.

Palmer had masterminded a massive timeshare fraud in the Canary Islands that made him a fortune. He ranks alongside the Queen in the 105th slot on the Sunday Times Rich List.
