NEW ASHFORD -- If a $60 million expansion proposal meets powdery slopes in the approval process, Brodie Mountain
may thrive as a year-round mountain adventure center and resort in 10 years.
Townspeople may not have to wait as long for a glimpse of Brodie reborn. At a Planning Board meeting one week from
today, resort officials plan to present an overview of the conceptual master plan behind the improvement initiative.
"We want something we can all be proud of, both us and the community," says James VanDyke, a Brodie vice
president. "The resort has got to earn the right to exist for the long haul. We wanted a plan that fits with
the topography and is economically feasible as a development and ski area, and that's good for the environment.
Sensitivity to the environment has always been key to our values."
