NEW YORK, NY -- American Express announced Friday that it has signed an agreement with The Landis Group to lease approximately 175,000 square feet of office space at 400 Atlantic Street in Stamford, CT. This decision follows the terrorist attack on New York City and Washington, D.C., and the need for American Express to relocate its New York headquarters staff.

Stamford will be one of several locations in the metropolitan New York area where American Express is leasing facilities to accommodate its headquarters staff.

``On behalf of American Express, I want to thank The Landis Group, and Alan and Scott Landis in particular, as well as the municipal and city officials of Stamford for responding so quickly to our needs. Their resourcefulness and quick actions during these tragic times demonstrate a generosity of spirit for which we are truly grateful,'' said Tom Meador, Senior Vice President, Global Procurement and Real Estate, American Express.

``The Landis Group is deeply appreciative of having been given the opportunity to accommodate American Express, one of our country's premier financial services organizations, as our nation moves forward during this critical moment in its history,'' said Alan Landis, The Landis Group.
