WASHINGTON, DC -- MeriStar Hotels & Resorts (NYSE:MMH), the nation's largest independent hotel management company,
yesterday reported that, following Tuesday's tragic events, nine of its managed hotels in Washington, D.C., northern
Virginia and New York City sustained no damage and are operating normally. Additionally, the company provided contact
information for each of the hotels for those wishing to check on family and friends who may be registered as guests.
``We are all still in shock over the terrible events that occurred yesterday in Washington, New York and Pennsylvania,
and extend our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the victims,'' said Paul Whetsell, MeriStar chairman

Va. closest to the Pentagon and one in lower Manhattan performed at the highest professional levels during the
crisis.''

Whetsell added that guests needing to change or alter their hotel reservations at any of MeriStar's managed hotels
in light of Tuesday's events should call the brand reservation center or the hotel directly.
