Peter Roberts to Become Chief Operating Officer of Jones Lang LaSalle

CHICAGO and LONDON -- Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (NYSE: JLL), the world's leading real estate services and investment management firm, announced yesterday that the Board of Directors has named Peter C. Roberts, 40, to be the firm's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective January 1, 2002. Mr. Roberts, who is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will report to Christopher A. Peacock, 56, who previously was named President and Chief Executive Officer, also effective January 1.

In his new role, Mr. Roberts will oversee operating, planning, marketing and business development activities for the global real estate services and investment management firm. An internal and external search is underway for his replacement.

Mr. Roberts has been with Jones Lang LaSalle for 15 years, beginning his career with the Capital Markets group, where he executed numerous transactions and financial advisory assignments for clients. In 1993, he assumed a management role in Tenant Representation and in 1999 became Co-President for the group in the Americas. Over his career, he has helped build the firm's practice of representing clients' occupancy requirements across their real estate portfolios and on large, complex headquarters relocations. He also served as relationship manager for several of the firm's major strategic alliance accounts. Mr. Roberts led teams that executed some of the largest leasing transactions in New York, including Prudential Securities in 1993, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in 1994, and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP in 1996.

Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, he was an Assistant Treasurer with Morgan Guaranty Trust Company of New York. Mr. Roberts graduated from Dartmouth College magna cum laude with an A. B. in economics. He earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
