BEVERLY HILLS, CA -- In the wake of yesterday's tragic events, Hilton Hotels Corporation provided the following update as to the status of several of its hotels. These reports will be updated as events warrant.

``While we are thankful that at this time there appear to be no injuries to our guests and employees at our hotels in the affected areas of New York and Washington, our thoughts are with those suffering as a result of these events,'' said Stephen F. Bollenbach, president and chief executive officer of Hilton Hotels Corporation. ``Our commitment is to the continued safety and security of our guests and employees, and we are taking all appropriate measures, including working with all relevant authorities, to ensure this. With the exception of a select number of evacuations, our hotels remain open to accommodate our guests.''

At 11:20 a.m. yesterday, PDT, the status of hotels, particularly those in and around New York and Washington, was as follows:

• Embassy Suites Battery Park: No reported injuries. Hotel has been evacuated. Cannot confirm speculation on an explosion at or near the hotel (which occurred well after evacuation).

• Hilton Millenium: No reported injuries. Unknown level of damage. Hotel evacuated.

• Doubletree Hotel Times Square: No injuries or damage. Hotel open.

• Doubletree National Airport Hotel (Washington, D.C.): Smoke damage; approximately 50 guest rooms open.

• Embassy Suites Crystal City (Washington, D.C. metropolitan area): No injuries or damage. Hotel secured by FEMA as a staging area. Guests relocated to other area hotels.

• Hilton Boston Logan Airport: Hotel secured as headquarters for Massport. Guests relocated to other Boston area hotels.

The company has set a policy that no cancellation or ``no show'' fees will be imposed for any reservation scheduled for September 11 through September 16, nor will early departure charges be imposed for any departures September 11-16. Additionally, no cancellation charges or penalties will be imposed for any group, social or other event between September 11 and October 31.

The company has committed to flexibility and working cooperatively with its guests and customers during this difficult time.
